Oak framed building replaces swimming pool

Oak By Design were recommended to Ray Donnelly by an architect who had worked on a previous project with them.

Ray, who lives in a small village on the East Coast of Yorkshire, had an attached flat roofed extension on his 1950’s brick built, detached home.

The property had an old indoor swimming pool that was unused and rundown. He wanted to upgrade the building into a stunning oak framed building entertainment area for his family and friends.

Ray wanted an open plan room leading out onto the large, level landscaped gardens beyond.

An open, oak framed building with vaulted ceiling, oak trusses and purlins were to give the room some ‘wow’ factor. Two sets of bi-fold doors were used to open up the room to the garden.

A large overhanging gable would allow people to sit outside and be protected from the inclement weather!

Jamie, liaised with the client and Rowe Architects at the early stages of the planning procedures and this ensured that the client’s needs were to be met. Oak By Design introduced the builder into the scheme under their remit.

The building project started in early 2019 with a 17-week schedule.

Both Oak By Design and the building team worked together ensuring the quality of workmanship, the schedule and the clients needs continued to be met throughout the process.

Rosemary tiles finished of the new builds roof which then tied in with the rest of the property and finally everything ‘came together’ to create Ron’s new family home.
