An oak orangery is an oak framed building which has a flat roof and exposed lantern.
The roof has an inner and outer 'ring beam' to support the roof above. This is a good alternative to a fully pitched roof whilst allowing light to enter from above.
An oak orangery is also the ideal solution if you have any height restrictions as the dimension to the gutter level is around 2400mm.
All our oak orangeries are made to measure including the oak frame, doors, glazing units and lanterns.
An oak conservatory, oak garden room or oak sun room can adopt the same structure as an orangery but it inherits a pitched roof. This pitched roof is normally supported with matching oak trusses.
The oak frame and glazed walls remain the same but a conventional slate or pantile roof (may be part glazed) creates a void and space within the roof section.
These oak frame buildings can have fully glazed walls or part glazed allowing the framework to sit on top of a dwarf wall.
An oak atrium can best be described as a flat, double-height oak framed building.
This is usually found on the front of a property as an entrance to your home. These impressive additions can allow a tremendous amount of light to enter the building over both floors.
A galleried landing is normally associated with an oak atrium providing a front garden view from the first floor area.
They also create height and character within the entrance or hallway. Depending on whether you wish to continue the oak theme through the hallway, a matching high quality oak flooring is available.
